Living Gently

I have an idea.

Have you noticed how stressed many people are these days? That not everyone is acting as their best self?

Here is one way to handle this.

What if we think of ourselves as water, flowing through life? You could even picture yourself in a large column, gently flowing down. ⛲️

At some point, someone will act badly. But here’s our power: we can choose not to judge this person. We can also choose not to waste cycles being angry or stirring up negative emotions by lingering on what they’ve done.

We can watch it. See it. Notice it. And then — we can simply be discerning. Not judging, but editing, and gently flowing a little away from this person — for now.

Ticht Nacht Han interpreted the Four Noble Truths (the Buddha’s path to end suffering) as simply moving away from what’s not good for our well-being and towards what is good for our well-being.

With this as inspiration, we can just float away from what doesn’t serve us .. and towards what is good for us. Cleanly, gently, and with a smile. ☀️

Life is a constant flow, and we have the power (most of the time) to adjust our direction.

And as you move towards what’s good for you, I’m excited to share that we are hosting a fun, happy mini-meditation retreat for everyone in The Path community (& friends and loved ones) this July in my favorite place in the world, Panarea.

Panarea is a tiny island off Sicily with cobblestone streets (no cars!), some of the best food in the world, and surrounded by the sparking Mediterranean Sea.

This will be a small retreat to keep it intimate, and all meditations, meals and swimming :) will be outdoors.

I would LOVE to have you with us.
